8-Bit Rock Around The Christmas Tree MP3! Download And Be Jolly!

Last holiday season, we released a splatterific new game about Mrs. Claus called The Snow Runs Red and you guys did a fine job of defending your Christmas trees while killing hordes of greedy kids. Once again, I received some requests for an mp3 copy of my 8-bit rendition of "Rock Around The Christmas Tree", so I've decided to put it up as a free download. Just click below to get your copy of the mp3:

I hope this tune makes a nice addition to your Christmas jukeboxes, and may it make your holiday season happier than Buddy the Elf in a maple syrup factory.

Also, in case you missed it last year, I also released my 8-bit version of "Santa Claus is Coming To Town" which you can download here. And while you're at it, play our Santa Fu game as well.

By the way, I know there haven't been many updates here since we released our new Abobo's Big Adventure trailer earlier last month, but we're really working hard to wrap up our work on the game and it's taking up a big chunk of time. On top of that, Re and I just took a Thanksgiving / early-Christmas trip to Seoul, South Korea and it was absolutely amazing. Naturally, we took a boatload of photos while we were there, so you can expect a big "Christmas in South Korea" I-Mockery pictorial coming to the site in the near future. Believe me when I say that the people of Seoul do Christmas better than pretty much any place I've seen in the United States, and you'll see why soon enough. Until then, enjoy the 8-bit tune!

I've been to Seoul South Korea myself and I have to tell you that words cannot describe how huge and heavily populated the city actually is. It's honestly like being in another world where pretty much anything you can imagine is right within your reach. From resteraunts and clothing stores, to internet cafes, to arcades, to strange and weird shops, Seoul has damn near everything. I happen to have gone to Korea right after we rang in 2000, and even still they had Christmas decorations up. I know from first hand experience that they do it big over there in Seoul. RoG, you and Re are in for a real treat. :)

Hi ROG, I have made I-Mockery my #1 source to get all of my Halloween and Christmas information to cheesey movies and off-the-wall stuff that is posted on this site. It truly makes the holidays a lot more interesting! Thanks for all of your hard work... I haven't laughed this much in years.

Great work with the 8-bit music! I can't wait to see the Seoul pictures too.

Thanks for the mp3's, RoG! Did you play those songs in a minor key? The arrangements sound like something from a late 80's NES game from Capcom or Konami. Very action-oriented.

MeowMixMaster - Amazing place, isn't it? We had an absolute blast over there and I'd definitely like to go back again sometime. There's just so much to do, and it's actually affordable. The dollar goes a long way over there.

Billy Chapman’s Friend - Much appreciated. We do a lot more Halloween stuff on here than Christmas, but we still try to do a bunch o' fun things come December every year. I just happen to be busier than usual with the Abobo game 'n all, but the South Korea Christmas pictorial is coming along nicely, so keep an eye out for it.

A-bomb - Thankee. The Seoul pictures are gonna be great. I'm actually doing two separate articles since we visited a very special place while we were there that deserves its own write-up. That one will probably come later in the month though.

Hoverbored - Thanks, glad you like 'em! I do play them a little faster, and added in some additional original background & solo stuff of my own into them as well. But yeah, my intention was for them to sound like they came straight out of an old NES game - especially with the "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" one, since it was used in our parody of the NES classic "Kung Fu".

I forgot to ask RoG did you and Re happen to catch any of the Korean soap operas that they apparently show damn near all the time? I don't know why but I always find them a hoot. One evening I was eating at a resteraunt and they had one of those playing. Saw some girl who's sweater was trapped inside a passenger side car door while it was driving and she was outside. What made it funny was the pretty cheesy acting in making it look like she was actually terrified. I swear either they can't act or they have a pretty good sense of humor. But then again mabey both.

Can't say we did. We were out pretty much all day long every day. I did turn on the TV once, and the funniest thing that was on at the time was an Australian take on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood. Same kind of show, but with some Australian lady hosting it instead.

With as much stuff to do in Korea as it is I can't say I blame you for not watching any tv. I know that I had plenty of stuff to check out when I was there. I am looking forward to seeing your pics of the trip, will bring back some fond memories for me and will give me something to look at while I'm sitting here in my quiet little cubicle. As allways your site is the perfect cure to my call center bordem blues.

Thanks to the Stage Clear bug, today I learned that CastleVania music goes rather well with The Snow Runs Red.
