What's the name of this movie / tv special ?

There was this old video game movie (or perhaps it was a tv special) in which a kid plays this crazy game that nobody could get past a certain level on, but he's so good that he actually does make it past that level. Then the game gets pissed and sucks him into it and the kid gets trapped there forever. Any idea what movie or tv special this was? I really want to do a feature on it because it was pretty amusing... I just can't remember the name of it.

I'm not saying it was based on a video game, it just involved video games. I think I remember the kid having a shitty home life and his dad hated that he always played these video games 'n stuff.

It wasn't the Wizard or Tron or anything... I don't know what it was, but it ruled.

Don't remember are you afraid of the dark, and I know it was before goosebumps time. This was out sometime between the mid-80s and early-90s.

I think I saw it, too. Here's my guess:

A horror movie from the 80s called Nightmares. It was an anthology of short horror stories. Emilio Estevez was this "kid" who just couldn't get over this one game called Bishop of Battle, and in the end, he winds up stuck in the damn game. Also, there was a story aobut a family being terrorized by a giant, fake-looking rat.

But it was an animation/claymation, and it was a board game, and he got sucked in before he won . :(

Yes! That's the one, Bishop of Battle. I kept thinking that it was Christian Slater, but I couldn't find anything about him being in a movie like that. You're right, it was Emilio Estevez.

I think your thinking about that one Are You Afraid of The Dark episode where the kid gets stuck in the pinball machine and in the end the kid is trapped there and a pinball falls on him.

Nah, I know the one you're talking about, but I think that was in the Twilight Zone movie.

No, in the Twilight Zone movie there was this racist guy who ended up in WWII France or Germany and was deported to a camp, and it was also with the kid who could make his wishes come true, and the one with the guy who saw that Gremlin thing on the wing and I think there was one more, but it wasn't with a painting or anything.

Also, it started and ended with Dan Akroyd. In the beginning he eats Billy Crystal, and in the end he's an ambulance driver who then gives the viewer the impression that he's gonna eat the guy who saw the monster on the wing, because it turns into a scenario like in the beginning.

Man, that was a pretty neat movie.
