Okay, I ordered one of Doppa's posters off her site and I just got it and it rocks. The quality of the reproduction is excellent, and she signed it for me in gold ink and if y'all miss your chance to order some quality artwork from this young missy before she's getting paying gigs and can't be bothered to remember how much she hates your stupid ass, then you're FUCKED! Support this artist and do it NOW!

Oh, and Rog threw in some i-mock stickers, a lil rubber ninja, a packet of sugar and a blnk sheet of paper. But you probably won't get squat becuase I dragged his ass out of a tiger trap in 'Nam and all you did was leave shitty little posts all over his site.

Why thank you!

I am glad you think they came out well. And yes I agree people should order them so I don't have to shine shoes.

Since you brought this up I will go ahead and spam a bit for anyone who give a crap-

1. There is some new stuff up on my site in the gallery

and

2. I mentioned a while ago that I was entering a competiton - and it turns out I was given an award. So I will be in the next issue of Direct Art magazine (which apparently comes out in early June. It is a biannual Mag).
About it/where to get it:

"Direct Art is distributed by COMAG Marketing Group, the distributors of Art in America and Art News. Distribution is to a wide range of magazine and book stores including Borders and Barnes and Noble. Also distributed directly to New York City art galleries and museum book stores."

So go buy it when it comes out.

Thanks for supporting your support!

The posters did come out really nice... I was kinda surprised. I mean, she's really good at getting colors ready for print and all of that stuff, but I was worried the company she signed up with to print them would screw them up. Fortunately, they came out lookin' all nice 'n dandy and totally professional. SO YEAH, GO BUY SOME NOW! >:

In regards to the rest of the contents of your package, Max... I thought I threw some candy in there too for ya. Those poster tubes are thin, otherwise I would have stuffed even more crap in there. I didn't though, cuz I was worried it might wreck the poster. I should also note that Max included a nice donation to the board along with his poster payment, so a big hearty thanks to ya Max-O!

Oh and Max, that "gold ink" she signed your poster with? Leprechaun blood.

In a less flipant tone; I'm a sometimes artist and have always been very interested in art, and I seriously think Doopa's stuff is excellent. AND I'm picky as hell about what I like. The Red Lion Smoke Shop in Salem Ma. often carries the magazine you're going to be in and I will absolutely buy it. I would also strongly recomend Vertigo and independant comics lines.

You should send some of your material to Juxtapose. My Friend semi-famous and total loony Paul Laffoley got one of his pictures in their last issue.

Yeah I have wanted to see your art for a long time

That is coming. I am working on something special. Last I heard though, Vertigo stopped taking submissions. I am not sure what is up with that.

I have not bought Juxtapose for a little while since we are poor right now, but I would like to check out this friend of yours - what issue was he in? I was thinking when we had money about putting an ad in there because I didn't think they just accepted random submissions like that.

It's kind of stupid, but getting into that mag changed my perspective on things. I never submitted my work into anything before.

Anyway, seriously thanks Max. I've never had a lot of support and encouragement with this, so I really do appreciate it.

It kind of reminds me of this work http://www.omnimag.com/archives/gallery/giger/2.html but I'm not sure why? I know nothing of art aside from knowing what I like and Doopa's work was great. I wish success to you ... really!

HUMOROUS!

Yeah, Vertigo never even responded to the proposal I sent them. I think you should see if through this 'Boo' fellow you could actually get onto somebodies desk.

It's the current issue that has Mr. Laffoley in it, and it's just one pic, so I wouldn't spend the money. I'll see what I can dig up on La Net.

I was bored, and you had two pictures that took place in the same time frame. If anyone else had some that I had handy, I would have done the same for them. Anything to overcome my boredom. >:

I'm sure he twitches in his sleep on a fairly regular basis as a result of having been witness to that event.

Hey Doops! There turns out to be so much stuff on him, I'm just going to say go to Google Image search and enter "Paul Laffoley". I catually haven't seen him in a couple of years since he got laid off here at the Museum, but he's a great guy and he even put something of mine in a for real art show he currated, and used me as a Pop Culture source for some articles he wrote. He came to one of my shows, too. I've been to his studio, which is claustrophobically tiny.

His stuff is nothing like yours except it falls into the same 'Vissionary' non-category, which is kind of like naive artists that aren't naive so what do you call them. Post modern surrealist? I don't know. Anyway, he' just about as whacky as his art suggests. Check him out.

ohhhhhhhhhhh yeaaaas now I remember this guy. yes, Cool stuff. I think you may have mentioned his a long time ago... or else I knew about him from some sort of magic
so what do you call them
that is a good question that I do not have an answer to

Doopa, new to the board so I don't know jack about what you or your art are about, but I just checked some of it and I really like it... not to imply anything but it kind of reminds me of those illustrations from those Scary Stories books... I like these better though. :rock
