How much sleep do you get? On average, I get around 5-6 hours a night, although occasionally I will wake up during the night and take a long time to fall asleep again.

Please just make a chart of your vital statistics and ask if it looks good to save us from another one of these threads.

And I get 7 hours of sleep a night. >:

I usually go to bed at 12:00 or 12:30 and I get up at 7:45 because school is at 8. Sometimes I stay up the whole night because we have notebook checks and I don't take notes. :(

It takes me about an hour to fall asleep, and I get up at 6 A.M. or so. I go to bed at 10 (I have early classes.)So I get about 7 or 8 hours, less if I have a nightmare (I wrote about a particularly gruesome one somewhere in the Loveline forum). Which I often do.

And this is a pretty useless post.

I shoot for 8 hours, but lately I've been having some sort of twisted disease where the only effect is waking up exactly at 6:00AM every morning. I don't have class until 9:00.

i get tons of sleep nowadays--10-14 hours a night/day or more. but it's not always continuous; i've been taking naps like crazy.

my pre-pregnancy sleep schedule, though, was about 0-3 hours per night for up to a week, followed by a crashed-out 18-24 hours pretty much solid.

the future is a mystery.

I sleep every other day. For 6 hours or so. I try to catch up a little on weekends. Right now i'm going to - as ordered :O - take a hot shower and sleep after 4 days in which I've gotten maybe 8 hours of sleep on the whole. That including two hours worth of sleeping on the train to and back from classes. I'll wake up at 3 or 4 morning most likely. My ultimate goal is to be able to not sleep, not eat, and not get morning wood.

sadie said 'the future is a mystery.'

-I have always wondered sadie, why some people have babies that are a nightmare and never sleep more than like 2 hours at a time, and some sleep right through the night without any worries...do we inherit our parents sleeping patterns?

You have a kid already dont you? what were they like?

The practicalities of having babies is starting to occupy more and more of my thoughts :chatter

babies have different temperaments just like adults.
my son, who'll be eleven next month, had a very difficult time getting to sleep on his own in the beginning. the first few months were tiring; i'd nurse him to sleep, lay him in his crib, and he'd awaken a little while later screaming. finally, his dad and i took the pediatrician's advice and let him "cry it out." for hours and hours, i wept hearing him. but after two nights of misery, he was able to get to sleep on his own.
i'm hoping this next baby will be correctly preprogrammed. :O
