I finally bought some games for my PS2, so I'm going to start actually using it now.

But I don't own a TV, and my roommate's TV is a dinky piece of crap without even stereo sound.

Is there a way I can hook my PS2 up to my computer's monitor for under $150, preferably with S-video or component video? It'd be easy to find a TV tuner card, but there are so many choices and I'm not sure what I'll need to switch my monitor from PC to PS2 and back, etc.

I've got audio taken care of because my sound card has RCA inputs. My video card (Geforce4 Ti4200) has no inputs.

I don't think you'd need a TV tuner card... If you can hook it up through a VCR, you should be able to use a card with Video In.

Then again, I know nothing about Tuner cards. :(

Aww Chimp, I was hoping you'd have the answer in a flash. :(

Whether or not a TV Tuner is in order (though I think it is because of the refresh rate conversion), I still need some kind of video in and I'm at a loss for what to look for.

How about a link to a PS2 hardware junkie site? :)

I think you can get something called a V-Box or something that connects to your computer and then you connect your Playstation to it.

I just talked to a local A/V nerd who makes gameplay videos and he says to just buy a video capture card.

And let the shopping commence...
