So I get back home and find that some of the kids had a hissy fit over pub's temporary banning. awww. how cute. For those of you that don't know exactly what went down, it's quite simple:

Pub made a post in all caps, and in it was blabbing about "******s". humorous intent or not, if I see that shit, it gets deleted from the board and the poster gets banned at least temporarily. i've got enough content filters already blocking the site because of stupid shite like that, and i don't need more of them. furthermore, if advertisers who help pay the bills see that shit, they might not to advertise here. and sorry, but paying the bills is one of those teency weency requirements for keeping all of i-mockery going.

Pub was getting a simple 3-day "sit in the corner and think about what you did" ban. And yet somehow, the oh-so-rebellious jackass bandwagon just happened to be passing through town when it happened. And now it seems as though the moderators have banned a bunch of 'em? Haha classic. Hope the shitfit over his temporary ban was worth it kiddies.

If I knew giving a temporary ban to someone for making an idiotic post would rile people up so much, I'd do it more often. Unfortunately, general blabber is one of the only forums I have time to check anymore so most of the bullshit that takes place on these forums still goes unseen. hence the reason you don't see me deleting posts with other racist remarks in them in other forums all too often unless people notify me of them.

For the record, I couldn't give a shit about people wanting to look at porn or saying whatever the hell they want to say. I just try to keep these boards, and the site itself, reasonably clean from that bullshit. There's enough places on the web where everybody is trying to prove how "shocking" they can be already.

And just so ya know, those threads were backed up in a private moderator forum and i'll be checking them out in more detail later on. But for those of you who were banned tonight, here's the facts:

I trust the judgement those who moderate these boards, so I'm gonna let them decide when they want to unban your asses. That is IF they want to unban you anytime soon. In the meantime, go knock yourself out on some other forums where you can try to impress people with your vast knowledge of those shocking racist remarks and pornographic images. We're all incredibly impressed.

I think your rules and guidelines need to be refined either to the extent that all sorts of insulting should be prohibited, or none at all. So far this hasn't been an issue because the said rules, when it came to people fighting here were generally not enforced but now it's a completely different deal.

Don't be a douchebag. It's called I-MOCKERY for a reason. I simply draw the lines of acceptable mockery where I choose, and no, advertisers who are kind enough to pay to keep it up are not the only reason. If people start posting shit like that constantly, it's eventually going to get blocked by more and more spam filters. The last fucking thing I need is to go into work one day only to find that they've blocked my own site. This is one of the few places on the web that I check out on my lunch break. And again, I only read maybe 10-15 different posts a day so a LOT goes unseen. I cannot reiterate that enough. But if I see someone making racist/homophobic/pornographic posts, I'll delete 'em.

The only reason Vince wasn't banned immediately is because it was such a one-sided thing and watching everyone tear him apart (especially Max) was pure comedy gold. If I see someone making remarks that are against the rules of this board, I'll delete 'em and at the very least temporarily ban 'em. If I don't see someone making remarks but they do, well then I guess they got away with it. Lucky for them. I've always suggested that all of you help out and report problem posts to me. Some of you do, and I appreciate it. I work a full-time job. I write for I-Mockery which is another full-time job. I have martial arts classes and/or gym in the evenings. I play guitar. I have people that I like to hangout with on a regular basis.

In other words, I have only but so much time I can dedicate to scanning these boards for problems. So if ya don't like that "this post over here" gets deleted but "that one over there" doesn't, then do something about it. Report it to me instead of people slinging around words like "hypocrisy!" so easily.

Where I work (a sign/t-shirt shop), we got a request from some asshole about making him some t-shirts with swastikas and hate comments about Jewish people.

We refused the order and he whined and whined. Fuck him. He can stand up for his dead nazi leader who lost the damn war all he wants. We still won't print that bull shit in our shop.

Besides being morally wrong, on a business ethics level, it's totally wrong too. What if we took the order, and some poor Jewish guy came into the shop and saw us printing hate messages? We'd be out of business. Or we should be.
