Here it is. I've been hinting about working on a big movie review for a long time now and I've been holding off on it until the release of Spider-Man 2. Welp, now that Spidey 2 is out I'm happy to unveil my latest minimock... 3 DEV ADAM. It's an absolutely insane Turkish film from the 1970's in which they pit Spider-Man up against Captain America and a Mexican wrestler named Santo. Yep, Spider-Man is no longer a superhero. He's a supervillain. So sit back and enjoy a look into the Turkish impression of some American comicbook heroes!

Mock, that's lovely.
What I want to know, though, and I bet it's a story worth writting, is how the hell you came into heard of and acquired this film.

It's all about the eBay Max. You can find the most obscure shit on there. I got this thing for a few bux on a burned DVD, so that made it easier for me to do a big feature on it.

Hey RoG, you know how you mentioned Turkish Star Trek and hinted at doing a review for it? Something Awful beat you to it. (http://www.somethingawful.com/articles.php?a=2146)

Good for them, that still wouldn't stop me from doing a big in-depth review of it. I generally don't let what other entertainment/humor sites have written about determine what I want to share my point-of-view on.
that truly IS scary...
Yeah, that part is just so completely random. Quite nightmarish.

Exorcist? Hah, awesome I'll have to find that one sometime. I heard 3 Dev Adam was pretty much the most insane of all the shitty Turkish films, so that's why I started with it. Still, I'm sure the other ones are gonna be amusing to watch. But for now, I'm done with Turkey for a while... have other pieces to get back to work on.

Turkish cinema has proven time and time again that whatever we can do, they can do much, much worse. :lol

Nah, haven't seen a LOTR one... yet. The only thing I saw was a LOTR with the hilarious incorrect subtitles.

Yeah but compare him to Spidey, I mean at least Captain America is still a good guy... and I he doesn't carry a switchblade or deadly guinea pigs... nor does he have monstrous eyebrows.

The evil guinea pigs was probably one of the most unexpected parts. Pretty funny too.

First off, this was a hilarious review of the movie, I nearly laughed so hard I fell out of my chair. Great stuff.
The Turkish movie industry is pretty much plagued with this kind of stuff...so embarassing that you're not sure how people with frontal lobes larger than raisinettes could conceive of, film, and produce such a movie and yet not realize how intensely pathetic it is.
And, one would hope, upon the realization of just how terrible their production actually is, they would either end their own lives or hide in shame forever. Yet somehow, they continue to produce poor-quality films and "proudly present" them...so sad. Though I've noticed recently that the films are getting *somewhat* better, they're still nothing compared to Bollywood, and even that should give an indication of how crappy stuff is in general (since Bollywood is pretty bad, too).
But, maybe I'm being too caustic (maybe?)
Anyway, I speak Turkish, so if I perchance happen upon a copy I would gladly translate for y'all.
Also, "3 Dev Adam" is kinda more like "3 Colossal/Gigantic/etc Men" ... hard to explain, like most stuff when going between Turkish and English. Don't even get me started on agglutination and sentence structure. ;-)
Anyway, fantastic job, funny as hell.

Yeah, I used to work for a South Asian internet startup company. It was gonna be this big online community for South Asians, but after a while I realized that the idea wasn't gonna work cuz the management sucked. Luckily I quit before their dot com bubble burst.
Anyway, from working there I saw a lot of Bollywood movies 'n stuff. And while the movies weren't that great, they were definitely a million times better than any of that Turkish crap. And if I took nothing else away from my time working at a South Asian company, it's that I got to see plenty photos of Aishwarya Rai (http://www.bollywoodpicturesgallery.com/aish/aish07.jpg) - the owner of perhaps the best eyes evar. :o
Thanks for the info though DerGeist, and I'm glad ya enjoyed the big review. :picklehat
