This company is supposedly completely legit and people have been receiving free Ipods. I need 5 of you to help me test it out. Basically, you just complete the form by using the URL above and then you click "no" on a bunch of offers. BUT at the very end, you need to sign up for one offer (i suggest either the BMG Music or the Blockbuster offer).
And if you're worried about it not being legit or getting spammed, you can read this:
http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,64614,00.html?tw=wn_story_page_prev2
So yeah, please help me out and sign up for it.
http://www.freeiPods.com/default.aspx?referer=8528976
If you do it, please post in this thread and lemme know.
Thanks!

Actually, yeah you do.
In addition to my completing an offer myself, 5 friends of mine must sign-up via my referal link (as posted above) and they must all complete an offer as well.
Refer friends to freeiPods.com! A total of five (5) must complete an offer for you to be eligible to receive your free ipod!

From Wired:
Here's how it works: FreeiPods.com promises an iPod or a $250 gift certificate to anyone who signs up for various online promotions and persuades five other people to participate.
Subscribers are given a choice of 10 different offers, including a 45-day trial of AOL and a two-week trial of Ancestry.com's genealogy service. Typically, the offers are free and easily canceled.
Once the trials are over -- for both the main subscriber and the referrals -- the free iPod is dispatched.

as much as i'd love to suck up to you, rog (see my topic about your obviously correct picks of horrible summer movies), all the free offers are unavailable, and there's no way i would give my credit card # to a random website
Mockery
Aug 31st, 2004, 04:01 PM
Well you wouldn't be giving it to a random web site, you'd be giving it directly to Blockbuster.com or whatever. (that's who i'll be going with most likely)
But if ya don't wanna do it that's fine, I just hope I can get 5 people to help me really test this thing out, because if it turns out to be legit, then that will RULE. And if not, I'll be able to write a big new piece on I-Mockery about how they're full o' shit and get it spread all over the web on some big news sites. win/win :o

since you can cancel the offers or whatever easily then maybe i'll give it a whirl :x
Mockery
Aug 31st, 2004, 04:35 PM
Cool yeah, just make sure you don't cancel until after the trial period expires. Because if you cancel before it expires, then I don't think they give credit it for it at all.

So far, according to my account status, it says Jixby and Glowbelly have both completed the process. 3 more to go and then we'll see if this thing works out or not!
Jixby, Karen... if I do end up getting a free iPod, I'll send you guys some free shit (whether it be toys or some paypal cash, or whatever). The same goes for whatever other 3 people complete the process to help me out. :o

Ever hear that saying if it seems to good to be true, it probably is? I predict a lot of headaches and hassles as a result of signing up for this.
There's no such thing as a free iPod. :P
If you read all the disclaimers, they've written about 50 ways to get out of shipping you anything.
But good luck with it anyway. :)

I hate I-pods, but as long as I get free stuff (mabye a title?) I'll do it :)
Edit: On second thought, I have to buy something like the ultra-faggy AOl 9 so nevermind :(

So who has gone through the full sign-up process, according to my account a bunch of you have signed up, but the only ones showing up as completed are Jixby and Glowbelly so far. I know Chojin completed his too, but it's not showing up yet (and it can take up to 14 days for the process completion notice to appear). This should be pretty cool either way to prove whether this company is full of shit once 'n for all or not. I just hope 2-3 more people really complete the process.
And sure, in addition to sending out some goodies or maybe some PayPal cash, I'll gladly give titles to the people who complete the process to put me up to 5 referals (pending they don't have titles already).

I'm getting tons of spam mail now, though I think that's from BMG.
Just an FYI, BMG wants you to get 7 CDs and then pay exorbitant shipping rates, around $20 total. Then they want you to buy 1 CD at normal price and gay shipping rates. About another $20. Then they want you to get 4 CDs and pay for shipping. Around $10-12.
So BMG will cost you about $50 if you go with that offer, and it takes a long-ass time to complete. Their selection sucks dick, too - the only dance music they have is in compilations ;<

I already said I want the free iPod and how rockin' it would be, where's the mystery there? But I'm gonna write a piece on it either way, because if it is legit, then more people would probably want to know about it, and if it's not, then I'll have all the proof needed to prove otherwise. :o

Another one just showed up as being completed. Now I just need one more person to complete theirs and then I'll be able to see if the iPod comes or not.
Matt Harty, McClain, Chojin, and Hickboy are among the people who signed up but haven't completed their offers yet according to my account stats. Did any of you complete the offer? Cuz I know some of the offers take longer to show up as being "completed" 'n all.

Someone I know on another message board posted the same thing, and went through the same thing.
Last I heard his iPod's status was 'delayed in shipping' but that was around July. I haven't spoken to him recently, but I could probably get in touch with him.

Yeah, that's cuz a lot of stores are even on backorder with the iPods right now cuz they've been selling so well. Zug told me that some of his friends got their iPods though, so as long as I get one more person to complete their process for me, I'm pretty confident that they'll eventually send me the iPod.

I got a first bunch of CDs, but I still have to actually buy one now, then get it shipped, then get another free one and have it shipped before the offer is 'complete.'
And I don't have that kind of money lying around right now ;<

The amount of money that the people who sign up under you end up spending probably adds up to the cost of a new iPod. You should just put up a PayPal link and ask for donations. :(

Anyway, today somebody with the email address filineegro completed their offer and now I have 5 completed offers along with my own. So which of you board members is this?

God you guys are stupid, one fucking journalist gets to be the first in on a pyramid scam, writes a story, and then gets tens of thousands of dipshits to sign up for the service.
These things never work. By the time you find out about them, you're the guy that is getting scammed. Way to go!
