Two problems with the forums

As has been known for some time, you cannot edit your posts.

I've also noticed threads with an additional page that should exist. Like, a thread will only be 4 pages long, but there's a link to a fifth page which returns the message "No posts exist for this topic."

The database is all messed up. Fixing it will be hard, I think... unless Mock wants to reinstall phpBB. Or he could harass his host some more about the database troubles.

The non-existant pages are usually when the thread reaches the max per page (25, etc.) and makes a new, non existant page for posts.

Personally I like the non edit feature. It's makes us all the more vulnerable and less "mocking." It makes everybody human. Almost. :)

I'm kind of enjoying the lack of an edit function too, but it keeps me from making people say hilarious and embarassing things, plus I can't sticky or announcement anyone else's threads.

No, post counts are off which is tricking it into displaying an extra link. Pages are not created at all in phpBB. There is only one page for viewing posts.

I can't even get into phpmyadmin, so fixing the database is highly unlikely. Like I said, I'm just letting the boards go as long as they can the way they are. If they should completely crash, then I'll just have to reinstall phpBB and we'll start from scratch.

its because some of the post in the thread have been deleted, but the thread still thinks they are there, so it says it has more pages then it really does. or something...

I agree. It also makes you check your spelling as well. It works fine the way it is.
