DiVX Files

I am new to DiVX, and just downloaded my first file last night. I was aware I needed a player for it, and when I try to play it either on Kazaa or Nostra DiXV Player, or GDiVX player I can only hear sound. When I try to burn it onto a VCD using Nero, it says unsupported file type. anyone know what I need to do?
