:( I'm back to using my crappy IBM aptiva with Window's 98/ugraded to 2000. I built a new computer (Pentium 4) with the harddrive taken from the aptiva and tried to Format a new hard drive with the Window's 2000 pro my friend gave me but it never would work properly. I have to find a way to get a boot disk or recovery disk for Windows 2000. Does anybody know where I can get one and will this solve my problem?

insert your Windows 2000 CD into your CD-ROM drive and navigate to the BOOTDISK directory. Once there, simply run the MAKEBOOT.EXE or the MAKEBT32.EXE program to generate a new set of boot disks. These programs will produce four disks as opposed to the three disks required for previous versions of Windows NT.

Well, it crashed the next morning :( took it apart and re-formated and rebooted but nothing. shopped around for a new hard drive but had it checked first to see if it was the problem and it was. I bought the hard drive in March. $80 bucks and a whole new computer is back with fresh win 2000 updates and it seems to be working perfect. I still think I need a newer mother board because on start up I get a "Your bios is incorrect".

8:47 am...Just got home from walking the dog. I'm still torn on the idea of leaving my computer on or shutting it off for the night.

It's been a few day's now and the "POp UP" that had haunted me is gone!!!! After loading the new harddrive and all the win 2000 updates, no problems. I gave up on the mOzilla browser because it didn't seem to block any spam.
