How do you tell if stilton is mouldy.

I have just done eating rather a big piece in some toast and it tasted kind of wierd but looked ok.

is there some trick to knowing is its still ok to eat?

It smells pretty bad but tastes great. Especially on toast or crackers.

check the expiration date!

hmmm...... now why didn't i think of that.
But if you buy it from a supermarket cheese counter it will come in a bag and not have any packageing with a date on.

its meant to be mouldy and taste/look weird. YEUCH!

dude blue cheese doesn't go bad. The BLUE in it is actually fungi that grows when cheese originally goes bad. Deal with it.

wel duhhhhh. I know about that but if you left it in the fridge for like a year its not going to be edible. More mould will grow ontop of the existing mold or something.
