Classic comic books have always convinced me that people were far more insane back in the day than they are now. Proof of this will become apparent as soon as you read Pjalne's latest Short!

Gotta love how Superman sounds like he's giving Jimmy a valid reason for why he has to marry them, but then if you read his argument over again, you realize he's just going "Sorry, Jimmy, but I'm fucking doing this."

:lol

I love the cover where Superman's burning Jimmy's present. Great piece.

Oh man, it was SO HARD to cut loose the covers that didn't make it. And I don't think it's gonna get any easier when I'm doing the Lois Lane covers.

Holy shit. I'm tempted to go on ebay and buy some of those, that's incredible.

"Jimmy... what are you doing to me with that kryptonite laser scalpel?"

Jimmy, this gift you got me for father's day makes me sorry I ever adopted you as my son. I'll have to destroy it to teach you a lesson!

those comics look amazing.....DC went majorly camp and tripped out in the sixties for a while there...I have a distinct memory of an issue of Batman where he wears a rainbow coloured costume.

Hahaha, I have a scan of that comic.

Now that I look back, I wish I had placed that higher up on the list :( Oh well, it never was a top list to begin with.

I love how Jimmy is an asshole in most of them and Superman ultimately gets him back by making him marry a gorilla. Genius.

Again, excellent piece. <3pjalne<3

I saw this on Fark.com:

It was intended to be a joke, of course, but I thought it was relevant to the thread.

Jiimmy as Ringo is the best :o

Haha you're stumbled on a vast mine of comedic potential :o
You could do a piece on that every day for the next 20 years.

Thanks for reminding me why I watched all those episodes of Super Friends.

If anyone remembers grazzt from the old board, I talk to him on aim every now and then and he always has a ton of this kind of shit. So pjalne, if ya need more of those or any background info on the issues, he can probably help a lot.

I remember Archie vs the Punisher. That was fantastic.

Great Piece, we need more comic book stuff around here :)

Glad to hear you say that, because we're going to be putting up a "Comics" section on I-Mockery in the near future which will not only include our web comics, but it will also contain any comic-related material that we write from this point forth. Even the ever-absent Proto might be writing stuff for this new section. Good times!

I removed it because it was leeching lots of bandwidth and it's shitty when people do that to other web sites. >:

Me too, we can find shitloads of stuff to use. I can hardly wait for the Lois Lane minimock. Please tell me you're going to use that one where Lois turns black for 24 hours to see how she's being oppressed by 'THE MAN.'

Yeah, probably. I think that's one of the few examples where the comic books is as wacky as the cover promises, so I might include a couple of panels too.

No more questions please >:

Should we even get into The Doom Patrol? They're favorites of mine but that cover that introduces A-V-M Man is too classic. "Oh my God, he's turned himself into man-eating ivy, eek!"

Ah, I love old comics. They're like the old TV shows that were too insane to stay on the air but now are still kicked around.
