I picked this up on an oddly named Abandonware site. It's the sequel to the DOS-based Doom clone, except this one's in 3D, and it's fun as fuck. It has a multiplayer mode, and i wanna get some people here together to play it sometime, hopefully even tonight. But first, here are some pictures i took to convince you that you need this game.

This is the typical wizard. Nothing special in this picture, except that the wizards are pretty dope. They're like zombie Wizzrobes.

Blood wasn't a Doom clone, though. The LithTech engine was the shit for it's time, too. It's too bad it didn't go very far; it easily beats the original Half-Life engine.

Blood just looked Doom-ish to me, i didn't actually get to play it. Most of those DOS shooters looked the same to me, but i remember hearing from Booji Boy that you could kick heads around and shit in that one, too.

Holy fuck Blood 2. I remember buying that game at a Flea Market for like 10 bucks and I had so much damn fun with it. Except those godamn things that latch on to your face and fucking kill you. :(

Anyways, I downloaded the expansion, but Blood 2 won't run on my new computer (it's too good :( ) so I'll have to wait until one day when I set up an older box. :tear

I hate that fucking game. Especially the single player. The AI is so unbelievably idiotic. "Oh look! The player is coming at me with a shotgun! Well theres only one smart thing to do in a situation like this. I´ll try to run through that wall! Ooops. Didnt work. Well, if I keep trying it will work sooner or later."
And they cant see you until your like 2 feet away from them.

Everybody has to update it to the same version, although i couldnt find a good link to v2.1- only 2.0 ;0

Also, the engine seems kind of weak ;<

Shogo on the same engine was great though- so im willing to give it a shot ;D

I couldn't install the 2.0 patch, it said my install was bad O .o

I'm up for some multiplayer right now until sometime around 4, when i'll set the server up and i won't be around until tomorrow.

The IP for the server says it's 192.168.0.2, on port 27888, but you should be able to see the game if you select to join an internet game. try adding the IP to your join list if you can't see it, and if that doesn't work try adding the port.

Edit: Oh yeah, make sure you customize your character. You can do it any time from the ESC menu. Go to Bloodbath -> Customize.

I can't work the menus, because they're black most of the time, and then flash on for one tenth of a second before going black again for another half a minute. :(

Edit: Since FrenchKiss Abandonware was down the last time i checked, try Home of the Underdogs (http://www.the-underdogs.org/downloadfile.php?file=games/b/blood2/files/blood2.zip&id=4154) to pick up the game if you don't have it.

I installed the 2.0 by copying and pasting the what was in the "game" folder into the blood 2 folder and then installing the nightmare levels over it all ;>

And by weak, i meant the game engine physics- Quake 1 and Quake 2 came out before blood 2 and they feel much more realistic, like there is actually opposing force to the movements you make; This one almost feels as though you play the game entirely with no-clip. ;0

I discovered today that a 500 mhz PII and 256 MB ram can let you play a lot of stuff, such as Unreal Tournament with no slowdown :O
