Been planning on this one for a loooooooooong time, and now that I'm finally just about over the recent illness that had me bedridden for a week, I'm happy to unveil this big in-depth look at one of the worst martial arts action movies ever. Gymkata has so many faults it's hard to believe that it was ever in theatres. So sit back and enjoy this massive 3-page look at the magic of Gymkata.

I own this movie because it's awesome.
The theme music is soooo good it makes me want to find a high bar in an alley way and kick people in the face as I do giants.

Everyone should be required by law to see this movie. It's the ultimate testament to "no matter how bad a script is, someone will still make the movie"
Anybody else read the piece yet? I'd like to hear your thoughts on it... :o

Thanks Cosmo :o It really is stunning when you just sit back, watch the movie and take it all in. How someone could write a script like that and get it produced... I still can't get over it. On a sidenote, I think it has one of the greast box covers of all time - the gymnast fighting two ninjas who have guns! I must get a poster of it.

Thanks d00d. American Ninja are definitely amusing films, but I still don't think they can come close to Gymkata. But now I want to see the American Ninja films again cuz I haven't seen 'em in ages. There's plenty of horribly cheesy action flicks I want to cover. Remo Williams for example... that movie is godlike.

Yeah, but I think the best one i've seen was The Story of Ricky. I loved that review. :)

Squid,
Reflecting on my viewings of the film and you friend's review I am struck by how the reviewer missed the importance of the cold war angst captured by the film. The villains were many, the big Swede, the Asian looking guy, and the really bad Parmistani. The hero of the film was America, in Europe, surrounded by our enemies, showing that our goodness, values, and very feminine running style can win friends and the freedom of our friends.

Sid Vicious was a shitty bassist for a shitty band.

I'll agree that Sid Vicious had no musical talent whatsoever.

Damnit, I want a full-sized poster of this movie, but all I can find are shitty 11x17 reproductions on eBay. >:
