Melvin, Boston and Shaun is a web comic about a kangaroo/boy/dragon and his dragon friend, and is the product of a furry trying to come to terms with his insecurities. While there's no sexual content in the strip, the whole thing is obviously about some latent alternative sexual disposition the author is struggling with. It'salso hilariously pointless, directionless and inexplicable.

It gets weirder. Shaun has this whole past that has been wiped from his memory where he was merged with Boston. Because of this, he now has dragon DNA and is kind of Boston's brother. I've gotten to a part about Shaun getting fat, Boston wanting Shaun to cuddle with her all the time, and they're also trying to contact Santa Claus to ask him why people are celebrating Christmas in July.

This comic is a fucking black hole of an enigma. The dragon changes sexes and randomly gets horny for no apparent reason and she loves to make Shaun fat. Shaun seems to be in relatively constant pain when he's around the dragon but he doesn't wish her away or something despite the fact that she's imaginary, and last time I watched that episode of the Power Puff Girls where the one gay kid had the homicidal clown imaginary friend, you could do that.

The most disturbing part is that this is obviously representative of the author's mental state--meaning he probably really does have fantasies about a dragon making him planetarily obese. It's fascinating and horrifying at the same time. :posh

I was confused, too. I think Mr. Reveal drew up a bunch of comics (that may yet exist only within his head) and forgot to upload them, thereby skipping important plot points. As far as I can tell, Shaun is aware that he's living in a dream world, but, like many furries, doesn't want to go back. Yet, unlike many furries, he's unaware of what his life is like outside of the dream world.

I can't find any significance to the "43 or 37" joke but I'm sure it's deep.

I think that the fact that Shaun always seems to be in some pain around Boston represents Reveal's shame and guilt over his obscure sexual desires.
