While I won't get into his poor choice of roles in recent years, the fact remains that Martin is an amazing humorist and one of the best writers out there. I saw this piece of his from the New York Times posted on Lampoon and thought you guys might enjoy it.

And if you don't enjoy it, you're a Jerk.

Yeah, but what has he done in the last decade worth talking about? Is he a burnt-out former comedic genious? Or is he just waiting - biding his time? Milking these crap family comedies so that he can pay the bills while writing The World's Greatest Comeback Story Ever?

Or was the life of Navin R. Johnson a prediction of Mr. Martin's own meteoric rise to fame and subsequent end as a bum in Hollywood's gutter?

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

If that was meant as a response to my question, then I regret to inform you that movie is 17 years old.

i remember watching a rerun of the new saturday night live on E!, during the horrible, HORRIBLE news segment, steve martin showed up for few minutes and said few words, "oh, i was at home watching the show, and i decided to get up and visit..." yet the crowd went wild. that had to be the funniest thing i've ever seen, cuz steve martin knew the new SNL suck ass and he just decided to show up and save the show from its pitifulness.
