As I was dumping trash in a bin outside of my condo, I spotted a laptop bag so I opened the bag and there was a laptop inside. I know absolutely nothing about laptops since I've never owned one before. But it looks to me it's a fujitsu model c353 lifebook with a dvd player. I broguht it into my condo to check and see if the laptop's working. I pressed the power button and it appears to be fine except that the battery icon stated it's fully charged at first then the bars goes down to zero quickly, causing it to shut down automatically. Is it normal for a laptop to behave like this and that it needs to be charged? Or did someone throw it away for a reason?

You may need to replace the battery or power suply. They can be expensive, unless you buy generic models instead. It certainly sounds like its not holding its charge properly.

Sorry I wrote a reply when half asleep. I think its fine, you just need to plug it in. :) So look on the underneath of the laptop or online for the adapter voltage and then go and buy one. :)
