Today's episode kinda sucked. The content was largely boring and Colbert is having some real trouble staying in character. Also, his stuttering problem that he had on the Daily Show doesn't seem to be improving any.
The guy seems to be a lot better when he just interacts with people and doesn't work from a script; He has some real problems making his segments not sound like he's just reading the teleprompter at you. I also wish he'd keep up the obnoxious front the entire time he interacts with the guests instead of getting information or opening up to them.
AND ANOTHER THING. For a show that's supposed to cast him as a partisan hack, they sure don't cover politics at all. Are they afraid of hijacking the Daily Show or something?

I kinda thought that was the joke. He's SUPPOSED to be the kind of person to cover politics and such, but he doesn't talk about anything useful, just like the partisan hacks of the real world.
I could just be reading too much into it, though.

yeah this show isn't perfect but it's still pretty damn great. I think it's refereshing that it's not exactly like the daily show..

The show is more or less exactly the same format as the daily show when there's no political news.

thats what i like about it, or at lesat the first 2 episodes I saw.
the word segments are brilliant.
I am so glad steven colbert plays his character in this and is not playing himself like jon stewart is. Its awesome how it is a show revolving around one ignorant, arrogant "expert", it parodies shows like oriely factor so well.

It would be so much better if it was on once a week. He should just keep doing the Daily Show, but make Colbert Reports on Friday nights or something.

I was kinda listening to it while doing something else...does he refer to his show as the "Corlbert Repor" and kinda of not enunciate the 't'? Cuz I thought he did and found it slightly ammusing. Maybe I'm just hard of hearing tho...
