I work at Blockbuster and I get asked a LOT of stupid questions every day. The most recent was from this old lady that asked if we had a movie called "Thumbs Up." I told her that I had never heared of it and sked if that was indeed the correct title. She said, "Yes. I saw the box the other day and it said Two Thumbs Up."

True story.

Also when Passion of the Christ came out I was asked if we "had Jesus" and one lady inquired about "the movie with Jesus in it".

actually there are still late fees.. if you don't return a movie within two weeks or something you basically buy the movie.

Redbox is an example of how rentals should be done - $1 per night until 24 nights, after which you just keep it. And there are no surly clerks like DRUMMING4BUDDHA hating you am i right

this Redbox sound fucking amazing. My local store's Late fees work like re-renting the film, have something that costs $2.00 for 5 days, its $4 for 10 days and so on.

Here in wacky Norway, we have to pay $7.50 to rent a single movie until 11 PM the next day. If the movie isn't in by then, that's another 7.50.

"Dr. Gonzo

i just finished that book "

Which book is that? Unbeknownst it to common man there are more than one or two Hunter S Thompson books, although who knows how many with dr. gonzo.

Even worse is when they bring up the display box, then when you tell them you need the one from behind they just leave the display box on the counter and expect you to put it back for them.
grr

And once some guy came in and invented some promotion on the spot then got really pissy when i told him we where not running that particular promotion. He was all like "check my account, your boss put a note on it saying i definatly get a free film". fuck off you cunty bollocks.

Another time an old woman phoned up and asked if we had a film called ladies in leather when infact she wanted ladies in lavender. It was funny at the time.

Drumming4buddha IS rather surly ... and likes to boss people around from what I hear.

I've been asked for other dumb shit besides that.

Nightmare on 34th Street.
Cradle to da Rock 2
Cradle of the Dead 2
One guy asked for "Tha Wesley Snipe."

I'm tired and drunk so that's all I can think of right now but trust me there are 1000000 more where that came from.

People also always want free stuff for no particular reason.

God, this thread should be crawling with 'Clerks' references by now. I don't get it.
