So, i've been getting this error while trying to play games since i have had this PC. It's refurbished, so i expected a few problems, and this is only one of two snags i've run across, but it's a weird one. Every time i go to play a PC game (ROMs don't count), i get the Please Login With Administrator Privileges and Try Again error. I am the undisputed god and master of my PC, being not only the admin, but the only profile available besides the guest one. I renamed the Admin profile to Ninja, and as far i know the problem has started since then, but i can't really confirm that. It seems to happen with both cracked games, and games i legitimately have the discs for. In fact, outside of Unreal Tournament 2k4, i have had to use an .exe crack for every game i have tried to play on this mother. So that leaves me with a question: What gives? Any ideas, suggestions? Mutiple google searches turned up nothing useful to me, so maybe someone else has some kinda solution about this.

Don't rename Administrator.

Some programs (sloppy coding) will check specifically for that username.

Okay, well it turns out that i renamed Compaq_Owner, not Administrator. The problem is that i can't access administrator without going into safe mode. So that kinda blows. Is there anything i can do to alleviate that?

You should be able to log in as "Administrator" when Windows asks for your user name and password. If you get that lame login screen thing from XP, make sure that you disable the welcome screen in Control Panel>User Accounts>"Change the way users log on or off".

Says i don't have the appropriate permissions. I read that i can only login as the Admin when there are no other profiles, but i can't delete the one i am currently on, and guest does not have/cannot have the permissions i seek. I have even tried editing the registry key to show Admin at all startups, to no avail. Why must this be so ridiculous and gay?

It's ridiculous and gay because it was set up by a homo initially. >:

Try changing the user account settings in safe mode. You should be able to log in as Administrator no matter what. You want to see the Windows login window when you start up your computer, not the Welcome screen.

Of course, if you forgot the admin password, you are screwed.
