Itunes wont open at all

i've read all the things off apple to fix it and they have all been unsuccessful. what happens is i'll click it and it either wont open or it will flash onscreen for a micro secound and then dissapear. i know i'm going to get a lot of "use winamp lol" replies but winamp sucks for puting music on my ipod.

what have you tried? "all the things off apple" isn't very helpful, unless you expect us to dig thru Apple's site to see if they "overlooked something" - in which case, fuck you, call tech support yourself. :P

it MIGHT be helpful to know:

if you're using Apple or PC?
what version OS?
what version of iTunes?
have you recently installed anything that could be interefering, such as another media player?
have you tried virus scans?

i tried uninstall reinstall to no avail

i tried this http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302386 which didnt work :( it said something on apple about updating my firewall, but i dont have one

i am using a PC
my os is Windows XP
i'm using itunes 6 ( last time i checked at least )
i have not installed anything that could be interefering
i have tried a virus scan and unless mcaffe is broken i am completely virus free, which is good :D
