today in class we had this dumb thing called a book talk (yes, i am in advanced English)

we all had to pick out a memoir, read it, do some boring crap with it like write up reflections, then tell the whole class about it.

anyway, we had to write down three books we thought we might like to read that people were telling us about

I (of course) like a good student, was listening intently and paying great attention (not reading the latest issue of manga i just bought) and i heard one person say they (mind you we got to pick the books ourselves) read a book written by clay aiken! why on earth would anyone want to do that? look at the cover:

I just can't understand it!

Anyway, if you managed to stay awake through this story, could someone please explain to me how someone like Clay Aiken could manage to write a book? I mean, come on

You should have done my memoirs, which are an appendix to the book I'm shamelessly promoting in the philosophy board.

he's the guy who didn't win the 2nd season of american idol but was just as popular as the guy who did win, meaning not at all

you know he became a musician only like 3 years ago, so why is he writing a fucking memoir already?

he's still not a musician....he's a hack who has used up his 15 minutes of fame

CrazyGerman

sadly, that's an even BETTER example of why he shouldnt have written a memoir!

...getting back on topic, it seems like no matter what insignificant thing you do here you can write a book about it. Won an American Idol contest? Book deal. Tourtured in a war? Book deal. President of the United States? Book deal. BLOWING the President of the United States? Book deal. Internet Hero? No book deal....yet.

Ok, re-reading what I posted, it seemed like I went too far with the torture thing. I mean, that's not really insignificant, but i'll bet a lot of people were tortured, yet, no book for them. I think everyone should write a book about themselves, and then we can open up a new section of the library (unless there's already a spot for autobiographies).

Yes, I know:(

But mine has a cookie on the front :yum I couldn't resist

lol. i think that sounds interesting, actually, a hell of a lot more interesting than the aiken book. and judging from the title, it should be infused with some sort of humor, at least.

aw man, you should have got a David Sedaris book. all his stuff is autobiographical, and it's fuckin hilarious.

it's kinda wierd that we had to read memoirs and then i started hearing about this guy who lied about stuff in a memoir.

and Oprah had like, fully supported his story

what was his name? something with an F.
