Yeah it's great as I was only formerly made redundant yesterday, got a nice sized cheque and can have free college courses from the govt. So if I can get another job soon, I don't have to use my redundancy on crap like bills and mortgages.

It's nice that people want to interview me but I hate it!!

I hate having to smile and sell myself - I'm not a salesman after all. And then I hate it when they ask "Why do you want to work for this company?". They know that you never heard of them until you read the job ad in the paper so why bloody pretend that I'm dying to work for some tiny firm in the middle of an average city? I just want to earn some fecking money, OK?

Oh and "What are your weaknesses?" - crap, you have to turn that one around into something positive. "Ooh I'm such a workaholic you have to literally kick me out of the building at the end of the day!" - yeah right!

Ha! Well I do try and smarten up, but then going for design jobs you can get away with a certain amount of indivdualism. No one minds the coloured hair or piercings, so long as it's tidy. I tend to wear small studs rather than rings though and try and keep the hair down to just one colour, albeit pink.

I had a couple of interviews last year and the people interviewing me were so dressed down I felt over the top.

You'll do just fine Miss Bod. I wouldn't focus so much on the lack or the grind as much as I would pay heed to what it is the job can offer me. :)

I find that answering the questions as honestly as possible, while it may not land the job, is best in the long run.

If you have to lie to get in, you'll have the lie the whole time you're there.

For example - on the weakness question - if you think it's a dumb question, come up with a joke answer. If they don't like your joke answer, or insist you answer seriously, just tell em "I'm very sorry, but I find that question too facetious to give a straight answer, can we move on?"
