did you have an amp hokked to it? alot of older subs die prematurely without a amp. :(

How old is it?

I have noticed that in sound electronics, after awhile capacitors will turn resistive and either go on fire or just cause the equipment to stop working entirely.

With a little bit of work, I am sure that you could fix the subwoofer so that it at least passes the signal through to the speakers.

Can you get me some photographs of the electronics?
