I just broke two strings on my electric guitar, which matched with string my girlfriend broke on my acoustic guitar, means I don't have a playable guitar which sucks because there is no where to buy strings in the middle of east fucking bum fuck maine, where I live, and I have a show tommorow. Anyone want to mail me a guitar? I will trade you three broken strings.

God hates your band.

It made the backup's day because he plays lead now. I'm fine with the songs that I sing because I can just sing, but I am going to need to come up with saxophone or keyboard parts for the other songs, or just walk off the stage for them, which would just be shame full.

You could make a string out of cats, but it might only work with violins.

I think I might see if I can "borrow" one of those cheap acoustic guitars my school has for a night and hope no one notices. The problem is, they can't hook up to an amp.

That is always fucking lame. I blew out my classic amp, snapped 2 strings on my Fender, snapped two on my generic whenever guitar, and snapped ALL of the cords on my acoustic. I wish there was some kind of string alloy that doesn't break :(

Quit bieng such a pansey and get some heavy gauge strings.

I honestly don't know how people break strings so often, I dont think I have in years.
Unless you are breating the shit out of some gauge 9 slinkys or something most strings will last untill they need to be replaced.

The strings I had on my electric were given to me, and they were thin. The one on my acoustics are some seriously masculine strings and I dont know how my girlfriend broke it, but I done think she was playing it at the time.

How do strings break, anyway? My brother was loosening a string on his guitar and it snapped.

I dont see how loostening it could break it, but if you strum to hard or tighten to much it will snap.

Maybe they snapped 'cuz all I could play was Robo's Theme and the beginning of a gay anime song >:

Srriosuly, I suck at guitar :/ It's a good thing I don't say I play guitar or anything.

I couldn't live with myself if I corrected that typo. It's too beautiful.

:O

if you're a serious guitar player in a band that actually plays out and you live in a place where you can't buy strings at leisure, you make sure you have extra sets. doh. get it together. you'd be fired from my band, mister.

Hahaha, what a fag. I've had the same 6 strings on my guitar for almost 6 years now. And this is with me playing it long enough to have bloody fingers at times.

They must sound like shit. Get a new set, you won't regret it.

I was gonna say, talk about no pitch..

Music store's around here usualy have ernie ball/dean markley's 2/$5 or 3/$10. but online i would imagine there's even better deal's to be had.

Surprisingly they've held up very well. No pitch problems whatsoever, although I AM about ready to change strings, if anything just because I fear they're gonna break sometime soon.

Semi-related: On St. Patrick's Day, I'm going to my friend's band's show and I'm gonna get their bassist good and drunk and smash my old ass acoustic over his head. I shall yell "KABONG!" in the process.

I dunno why. Just seems kinda fun. Plus, I figure it's more fitting than unceremoniously throwing it away.

You are probably just used to it sounding the way it does. As soon as you stick a new set on you'll be all like "oh shit, thats better".

Unless you are tone deaf in which case I doubt you'll notice :/

he brang it, did he?

All night long.

When I first started playing I went a year without changing my strings, because I am stuipd. It sounded awesome when I finally changed them on a wim one day.
