I was explaining to a friend of mine how I think people may be talking about me behind my back, using a meme I posted in my LJ as an example. Because the meme asks for people to post if they ever had a crush on me, the group o' pals could be chatting about how desperate I am or how I cut myself and spaghetti sauce comes out, whatever.
Me: It's just a meme, but it could be taken so many ways. Especially by myself.
Me: I'm very critical on everything I do, and because I think of them they become true, and I fear other people thinking bad things true - 'cause then they might really BE true. Although they'/re made true by myself thinking them to be true, atleast subconciously
Me: The only important thing is what people think of themselves, after all
mans: yeah..
mans: can i ask you something?
Me: Sure
mans: did something happen to you?
Me: Besides years of teaching myself the sacred art of self-hatred, not a damn thing
mans: no offence but, you seem a little messed up for someone who's just lived a normal life
Me: It's all in my head
mans: ahh
I think in such a way my friend thinks I may have been traumatized in my youth. DON'T I FEEL SPECIAL

There's a guy in my class, and he's a pretty swell guy I think. One day when he was in the room everyone was talking and lving it up. Then as soon as he was out of earshot, another guy raised his hand and asked "Who else hates that guy?" and everyone else made noises of agreement.
I'd hate to be the guy people talk about when he's not there. I hate when people do that to other people. It ain't right.
Anyways, apparantly most of this guy's (the one who thinks I had an unhappy childhood) friends were raped or abused, so I think it may just be a reflex and I'm not that freaky. Really.

People think that people who have had hard lives have the license on being crazies, but in my experience it's usually the people with the relatively easy lives that are paranoid and the ones who do have the hard lives just kind of tell them to shut up and be grateful for what they have
so what I'm saying is you're not a unique case

Well now I feel bad for all the molested children :(
I know they're out there, now, calling me a bitch for being depressed and having a not so sucky life...

first of all, maggie, you are still in your youth. and secondly, most people are insecure, shallow morons who actually are talking behind just about everyone's backs. especially in high school. and most of them don't grow out of it.

The way you say I'm still in my youth made me think there's still plenty of time to be traumatized, but that's some good stuff to remember
You too, Emu. Good stuff.

bad experiences happen. whether you're traumatized or enriched by them depends on you.

Just wait untill you are older, then you can look back on this time of confusion with a sense of nostalgia. Nostalgia for how much simpler it is not to be involved in sex at all, oh yeah love hurts, especially the first time.

Generally it's a chiche internet phenomenon like Chuck Norris or Orly the Owl, but on Livejournal it's a quiz or survey everyone else on your friendslist is doing.
Now you know

I get talked about behind my back often.
Some good, some bad, nothing sexual.
I even had a female friend spy it out for me. Nuffing sexual.

Maybe you come off as asexual, like me?

One time when my college roommate suspected that I was up to something strange, he got me drunk at a party and pulled out of me my intentions to cannibalize someone the next weekend. He really took offense, however, when I added somewhere that I thought him to be asexual.
