(CBS)60 Minutes, in collaboration with the National Security News Service, has obtained the secret list used to screen airline passengers for terrorists and discovered it includes names of people not likely to cause terror, including the president of Bolivia, people who are dead and names so common, they are shared by thousands of innocent fliers.

Steve Kroft's investigation, in which an ex-FBI agent who worked on its al Qaeda task force says the list of 44,000 names is ineffective, will be broadcast this Sunday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

I don't get it.
Screening lists aren't convictions of felonies, they are just names to pay special attention to.

Okay Geggy, even if you don't believe in an Al Qaeda, you have to admit that hijackings existed before 9/11, right? They aren't all fictional acts or conspiracies, right? So how else are the airlines supposed to screen? it's no different then the list the Police run your license plates past when they pull you over for speeding. They can't outright profile, so they do their best. Is it effectual? No, but being that you are geggy and all, we know you didn't post that because you were outraged by their incompetance. So say what you mean for once.

It must suck to have one of the common names that are on the list. Poor Gary Smith :(

If big bird really is a bird why would he need a plane to fly?

Is this anything like the "do not call" list?
