I thought I'd start this forum in General Blabber now, and one of the administators can move it or start a new topic in the Forum Events section if we get enough response in here.

Well you already can't give that away since you said it. Your gift has to be "secret" hence the name of the game. Besides, it's about actually making an effort, going out and buying something fun/funny to send to someone. It's not about being a lazy bastard who's just in it to get some free shit. Not saying that's you, but we definitely seemed to have some people like that last year...

Ironically, the guy who started this thread most likely won't be eligible ;< Most of the fuckwits from last year were newbies and AMERICA CANNOT SURVIVE ANOTHER CHRISTMAS WITHOUT PRESENTS.

Maybe we should add a stipulation that people who have been here less than a year that want to play have to mail a 'test package' to i-mockery HQ and post a picture of themselves with their camera to prove they have the essentials required of this brave task.

Please include a note with your test envelope that states your forum name. Again, this is only required for people who have been on the forums for less than a year. We just want to make sure you're not some shithead trying to score some presents and then vanish forever. The people on here who participate go out of their way to make this a fun event, so don't try to fuck it up by not sending out a gift and/or not posting the photos of the gifts you receive.

Ok I totally know where you're coming from Chojin, I read all the posts from last year's Secret Santa in January while most of the shit went down about the random fuckwits, and their lack of cameras, lack of posting, and so on, so I can totally understand.

However, in my defence, and -Rog- should hopefully back me up on this, I'm not gonna do any of that stuff, cus i'm Simon, who just recently bought -Rog- something from his Amazon.com wishlist, so you know I'm good for it.

But, if you still want me to send a test package out, I will, cus I was quite bummed I wasn't on the forum since I started visiting the site a few years ago, and I wanna be a part of this.

Yeah he's good for it. We hungout last year at the San Diego Comic-Con 'n watching Bruce Campbell speak. No need to send the test package since you just did the wishlist thing less than a month ago 'n all. Just make sure you actually sign up for the Secret Santa thing once it's officially announced. We'll start a new thread for it sometime in the near future which will explain all the rules 'n stuff and it will keep a list of all the people who are verified and signed up.

I'd totally want to be a part of this, but aside from not having access to a camera at the moment I'm afraid of being committed to something I'm not 100% sure I could follow through with.

When is the participation deadline? I'm still undecided :(

The signup hasn't even officially started yet.

Last year the signup deadline wasn't until December 9.

While the signup hasn't been posted yet, it will be much earlier this year. The idea is to have people send out their gifts and post pictures of the ones they received BEFORE Xmas. During/after Xmas, everybody's gone or busy or whatever and not really caring about the holidays anymore. So this year, we're gonna get it all done before the holidays, that way there's none of this "Ok! It's February! I'm ready to post my Xmas gift pictures now! Is it too late guys? LOL I'M FUNNY!" bullshit.

And yeah, if you're not 100% sure you can commit to this, do not sign up when we post it. Somebody is going to be sending you a gift, and if you can't definitely send one to them AND post the pictures of the gifts you receive, then you're better off not signing up.
