Kid Icarus in an enjoyable game that I love to replay once in a blue moon. The hero is an adorable looking winged boy named Pit who fires arrows at enemies. <BR><BR>At first, those wings do little to prevent him from falling. This can be prevented by purchasing feathers that grant Pit temporary flying ability. In addition, he can find other tools that restore his life and boost up his fire power. In certain rooms, Pit can survive certain challenges that reward him with special weapons to help him on his journey.<BR><BR>The levels in the game vary between scrolling upwards and sideways. When inside the palaces, Pit wanders in all directions through a maze. These levels end with an encounter with a power boss that protects a magical treasure. The goal of the game is to gather up the three magical treasures so that pit can arm himself with them to defeat Medusa. In the final level, Pit flies through the sky armed with a powerful arrow and shield. Once he defeats Medusa, he rescues the goddess Athena, and the world is saved... until next time.<BR><BR>One original aspect of this game is that it has multiple endings. These vary, depending on how power Pit is, the number of hammers and amount of money, and his health. Replaying the game is worthwhile, since you can obtain a different ending by continuing the quest as a more powerful Pit. <BR><BR>The music isn't so bad, considering that it was one of the first Nintendo games produced. It's repetitive, but varies depending on the level you are at. When Pit takes a damage, he squeals and cries, leaving you thinking, &quot;Oh, the poor baby!&quot; The graphics are sort of on the cute side, which is fine for the young at heart. <BR><BR>Gameplay also works well, except when you get hit by an opponent. When that happens, Pit moves inadvertently and jumping becomes a bit of a problem. This doesn't happen very often, but it can be an occasional bother. Other than that, the controls do what they are supposed to do.<BR><BR>It's nice to play a game that is based on mythical Greek characters. There aren't very many classics based on that genre. The winged hero is so adorably cute!
