Contra was the best NES game ever created in my mind.. It even surpasses any game known to date because of its replay value, difficulty and overall fun level. The game has 8 levels: Some side scrolling and some 3rd person shooting. I still have yet to meet a person who can beat this game with the 4 lives supplies to you at the beginning of the game. The fun factor is amazing in this game. 2 player mode is much better but alone the game rules. In each of the 8 levels you must fight a boss. The ending of the game is truly the payoff when we all find out we must defeat the heart of the vile red falcon! The music goes alone with any board and the guns in the game are impressive. Overall there are no flaws in this game, which is why it spawned sequels.
