Mr fucking Krinkle! This game is fucking killer! Or it was, I haven't played this game since it first came out but goddamn I wish I could play it again.

You are an earthworm that travels around in a big power suit that has a machine gun and head used and swinging rope and whip. You are saving some princess or some shit but the game really puts no emphasis on it, but more on just how fucking weird the whole thing is! The stages are strange, scary and very well drawn. I do remember the junkyard in the first level, tires piled in 20 story mountains and lots of chains and junk to crawl around and jump around and bounce around and all kinds of shit. I also remember stage two which is set in on the moon, which is really hell, that is made out of boiling cheese. I think you are fighting big cats on this level, what makes this so memorable is the soundtrack! Its that um, DAA DA DA DAAAA DA DA DA DAAAA um... that real doomy sounding music you know, but it cuts off fast and is followed by some peaceful Jimmy Buffet type shit, that you can see far in the background cats dancing on top of big cheese columns meowing along with the music. The graphics look just like cartoons and despite some SNES pixelization on some things its pretty crisp (the genesis version, while it has one extra level looks HORRIBLE compared to this one, the PC version is probably the superior one, but I haven't seen it anywhere)

And that’s just the music and level graphics! The gameplay of this game kicks ass, Earthworm Jim swings, jumps, flips and scrabbles all over the place, His head/whip is very useful and fun to kick ass and swing around with. I love his machine gun, mainly cause nothing gets to me more than when you can't see the bullets coming out of your gun, I love that little dab of realism. I kind of forget on the enemies, I know there were some cats and crows, and some giant crows in spacesuits. All challenging and very addictive, though I do remember cussing and slamming my control down a lot, but you just can't stop playing!

One thing I will always remember about this game is the atmosphere it creates. Endless landscapes of junk, scorched desolate cheesescapes, enemies with crooked hi pitched laughs, somewhat demented music that is more downbeat and evil than upbeat and cartoony. And who can forget Earthworm Jim's laugh

The game is kinda toned down on violence and fart jokes in general but there is just enough to create a demented mix of cartoonish loonyness, disturbed isolation and creepiness.

Very unique! Earthworm Jim 2 is just as crazy and just as fun, with better music!
