Downtown Special is a game developed by Technos. This game is part of the successful Kunio-kun series comprised of violent sports and beat ‘em ups. This game never had an American Release, and a shame too, since it's one of the best Kunio games. Downtown Special takes place in feudal Japan. Kunimasa would eventually encounter (potential) allies and enemies from other dojos. This game is considered an indirect sequel to River City Ransom where the gameplay genre is a Beat ‘em Up and RPG hybrid where you side scroll to encounter enemies and kill them off to steal their money for buying items to improve your stats. Overall, it’s a fun game that's an improvement over River City Ransom.
