Ok, if you played Mechwarrior 2 or read my review for it, the words "Ghost Bear" will probably have some significance or meaning. After Clan Wolf lost the Trial of Refusal (play the game to find out what that means) to Jade Falcon in MechWarrior 2, Ghost Bear rose to be the only clan in a position of power. This doesn't sit well with SOMEBODY, so they come and attempt to destroy the genetics programs that make the clanners superior warriors. So it's time for you, nameless grunt, to suit up and pilot your walking death into battle.

The gameplay doesn't change much from MechWarrior 2 to Ghost Bear's Legacy, but it is still a very complex system. No other PC game has as much attention to detail in control as the MechWarrior series.

The graphics aren't really any different either. The environments are completely different, ranging from the arctic tundra to zero gravity space and the mechs now bear clan or faction insignia. There are some new mechs available as well, the most infamous of which is probably the Kodiak. As for the music and sound effects, GBL has different sound tracks designed to fit the more solemn mood of a more solemn clan.

Overall, don't expect a whole world of difference here, it IS only an expansion after all, but Ghost Bear's Legacy is a worthy addition to the MechWarrior line.
