Oh my god. This game is absolutely amazing. Taking place about a hundred or so years after the original Fallout, you are set out on a quest to find a G.E.C.K. (that's Garden of Eden Creation Kit) in order to save your little village.

The game is MUCH MUCH more than that. After getting the G.E.C.K. and returning to your town, you're set out on a new quest, to defeat the ultimate super mutant. Not only is he a super mutant, but he's also in power armor. Not quite the easy task.

Much of the dialog is very funny and engaging. This game may have some of the funniest quotes that I've heard in a while. Plus there is a lot of diversity in the completion of quest goals. For example, you can kill an old mob boss by one of three ways. 1. You can take away his oxygen tank to watch him suffer a slow, slow death. 2. You can replace his oxygen tank with a poison tank, thus killing him much quicker. 3. You can also kill him by injecting him with a lot of drugs.

Along your adventure, you will encounter many people and places. And maybe, just maybe, if you're lucky you'll find the random encounter that everyone wants, The Cafe. Dogmeat from the original game is here, and he still kicks ass.

Now with the success of the Fallout series to date, shouldn't Interplay make a new one? If you're with me, sign one of the many petitions that you can find on fan websites, to hopefully create a new Fallout.

Fallout 2 is quite a good game, despite a few glitches. I advise to save after getting your car; there is a glitch that will take the car away after getting into town with it, so save every time you travel to a new area with the car. (Editor’s note: a patch fixing the car problems can be found at www.interplay.com)
