I remember when I used to be into video games big time. Whenever I went to any place of business, I looked for this machine: Shadows Over Mysteria (or Misteria… I haven't played the game for five or so years) (Editor’s note: Shadows Over Mystara) is another side-scrolling Streets of Rage-type of game. Except it's fantasy based... and your character levels up...and you get a billion choices that amount to the same goal (fighting a Red Dragon I think)...and you can choose like eight characters.

Graphics were alright. Nothing spectacular, but I think that they were a higher caliber than most arcade games of that era.

Gameplay is the side-scrolling style, but with more options and flavor. Different characters have different perks, such as the thief being able to access "hidden" places that you can't if you were any of the other classes. If there's a thief in your group, you can, though.

The sound was pretty good. Not anything worth shouting out to though, like the graphics. They're a step up from its predecessor. Actually, every aspect was..

Originality was… well...there were a lot of medieval side scrollers, apparently. I'd say it's more original than the bandwagon though since you have more characters...more options...can buy crap and such.

Overall, I'd give it a seven or an eight.
*I really want this ROM...I'm looking around for it.
