Simply said: The funnest dodgeball game ever made.
The graphics are simple, using the 2D side-to-side scrolling of the NES game Super Dodgeball. It wasn't anything impressive, or anything that hasn't been seen before, so I give graphics a 5. They weren't great, but they weren't displeasing to the eye.
Gameplay is where it gets confusing. The game is amazingly fun to play with a friend, but it loses something for the non-Japanese reading persons of the world, as 80 percent of the game is written in Japanese. But, can you blame them? It's their language, for Christ's sake. Anyway, I give gameplay an 8, because this is one game that should be played by everyone who loved playing Super Dodgeball on the NES.
Originality was at its best, when the game creators decided to make Battle Dodgeball a game that was a spin-off of the Gundam Generations series of games. I found it both fun and amusing when I learned I could play dodgeball with Gundams against alien creatures. There are few things in the world of SNES games that can top that. However, I'm giving the originality of the game a 7, because while its great, its only taking an old game and making it better.
The music, sad to say, was nothing special. While it did add something to the Story Mode, none of which I understood (again, the Japanese language), it was slightly too cheerful for a game titled Battle Dodgeball. I give music a 4, because there are a few stage themes that are to my liking.
Overall, the game gets a 6, because while the gameplay and overall fun of the game are high, it’s a little lacking without being able to understand Japanese.
