Pretty much everybody has played Prince of Persia at some point in their lives, and the ones who haven't have at least heard of it. There were two things that could have made that classic better, though: guns, and the ability to kill innocent people who were chained to the wall.
My prayers were answered in the form of Blackthorne, a tough, tough action game from Blizzard. The storyline is mediocre at best (despite getting around twenty pages in the manual), but that's not why you would want to play this thing. You get to fight weird orc-things with machine guns while being talked at by your imprisoned people, who say useful things like
"Uhhhhhh." On top of fighting the orc-things, you can cap the prisoners, most of whom do very little to fight back! Put these nifty bits on top of Prince of Persia, and you get Blackthorne.
Besides great gameplay, though, you get excellent graphics, good music, and a high challenge level. Give this one a try; you won't be disappointed.
