Of all the SMS to TG-16 ports made between 1989-1991, this is my favorite so far. I also have played the SMS version, but this version is true to the arcade version. However, this version wasn't released in the US much like Wonder Boy 6 for the Genesis. Now on with the review...

Game Play: It is basically the same as the SMS version, only that some of the bosses are harder in some areas of the game. It will take some practice getting past many of the bosses in this version when compared to the 8-bit version. Not to mention you can't crouch down in this version either, but the game play still remains intact.

Graphics: True to the arcade version unlike the SMS port. They manage to harness the TG-16's power, which results in graphics that are very detailed and anime-ish. If only this port had Parallax scrolling like Keith Courage in Alpha Zones then this game would have a decent chance at an American Release.

Music & Sound: Worse than the SMS and Arcade versions. It has NES-level instrumentation when compared to Alien Crush (Which I also have).
Plus, the sound effects can get annoying to an extent.

Originality: It's an arcade port you idiot, and a good one at that. Besides, this game was already released for the SMS.

What do I say: If you find a ROM, Get the translation patch if you find it on a ROM Website.
This port deserves an eight for being true to the original arcade game.
