Oh my god, nobody has done any reviews for the King of Fighters for the Neo-Geo. This makes me very sad.

The King of fighters 2002 is the best KOF in the series, The game features 40 characters in all and sports some of the smoothest animation I have seen on the system.
The gameplay is just like the other episodes in the series, except, instead of Counter and Armor modes like KOF featured in previous installments. This time around the special bar that lets you unleash your fury comes with "Max activation" mode which makes you a little more powerful for a short period of time and allows you the use of Max Super Special Moves. The moves are nice and powerful just like they always were, but not overly flashy.

Just like they should be.

If you like 2D fighters at all then I would suggest 1 of two things.

1: Go to an arcade that has this game and waste quarter after quarter reveling in it's majesty (I really like this game if you haven't realized)
or
2: Buy it for Neo Geo AES. Expensive, but still a good buy that will make your friends jealous.
You could always go for

3: Buy a Neo geo MVS with KOF99-2002 and make you jealous friends pay for their envy, but that’s only if you like spending money and lifting arcade machines. And I mean only if you have some sort of sick FETISH about things like that.
Of course I'm getting a little of topic now, aren't I?
Play it, Buy it, Emulate it, either way, you MUST play this game.
