splittin' threads

would it be possible to maybe split the chatroom thread (and any other 10k+ reply threads, such as PYPH) into more manageable pieces? as it stands, it can take well over a minute or longer just to load the dang thing, and the only reason i can think of for it is the fact that it's just too big. maybe archive everything pre-20000 and split the rest off into a new thread?

I'd say just cut out a number of replies and stick them in the Backups forum.
