yesterday i was fired.

actually, i wasn't fired FIRED. i was compensated for leaving and not saying that i was technically laid off because the powers that be didn't want to freak out the peons by making them believe that another, yes another, layoff was happening.

the people i work with, they think i was fired.

me? i walked with the same amount of money that i would have gotten if i was going to stay on through may (at which point i was leaving to go to philly). it's all cool too, because on paper i was laid off. i can collect unemployment, and i can use this place as a reference...which is good, because i had been there for 4 years.

sooooo, i've got an extra month to get all the stuff done that i need to get done. :) and it's not just any month, it's may.

i'm a happy gal.

I was praying I'd get displaced when my company went through their cuts a couple months ago. People here got six months w/pay... all I got was twice the amount of work I used to do, and a free pass to continue my banal existence. fire ME dammit!

anyways, this is really good for me. take today for example? i'm lying in bed, with my laptop in my, well lap, listening to music and posting to i-mock. :) i get to do this until monday, at which point i'm going to start taking care of all the things i have to do.

then i get to move to a cool city and go back to school for something that i actually enjoy.

guess what i did today?!

i'll tell ya.

first things first: i applied for unemployment.

once i got my lazy bottom out of bed, i went for a run. then i came home and showered. then i called my lawyer about my car problems. he thinks that it's best to wait it out and see what the mofo that hit my car is going to do, but he promised he'd be there for me if i felt like something wasn't going right because i am friend's with his favorite defense attorney (who, unfortunately, can't represent me because he's too busy sticking up for scumbags like the guy who hit me >:)

errrr, then i called alesci's and confirmed that i would be working on the patio selling beer (cash money, baby) friday night, saturday and sunday. hooray :eek

i also got me some of that short term health insurance because i'll be damned if they think i'm going to take that money that they gave me for COBRA and actually waste it on COBRA. >:

oh, and i also did my taxes.

awww, gyeah.
