Anybody a fan?
I'm not, i was recomended to this band heavily by alot of friends -- and i bought "blessed are the sick" (or a title similar to that) and i wasn't impressed -- and for a band with such high-standing among the death metal world, and such longevity, i figured i'd ask you guys your take on them. Are they good, and i just picked a bad album to test them out on?
As always, thanks for the feedback.

i'm not really a fan but i've seen em more than i've wanted too. they're ok but a bit over played in the "scene". but yeah, you want covenant, that was a bad ass album for the time! give it another go with that one!

I like them, but i've got no real comment about them besides i think of them more as a fusion of death metal sound with gothic atmosphere.

I'm a fan of them, but not a big one. I downloaded a couple songs off both Alters of Maddness and Blessed Are the Sick and was much more impressed with Alters, but i've only heard a few songs. I have a copy of Domination and that's a sweet album. Also Gateways to Anihilation is pretty good and i thought pretty original sounding compared to the sound of all their other albums.
I found something really weird. There is this really cool guitar solo like thing used in the sound track to a good anime series named Trigun and the exact same solo is played in "At One With Nothing" off Gateways to Anihilation. both match down to the exact sound and the trigun series came out multiple years before the morbid angel album. Very odd.
in the song the solo's are at 1:45 and 3:08 if anyone wants to check them out.
