I know Mew and Rog like to tear shit up MIDI-style and maybe some others do too, so I thought I'd mention this. Capcom is having some 15th Anniversary Street Fighter Celebration web site thing going on, and part of it will be a contest for anybody to send in remixes of classic Street Fighter tracks. The prize is nothing big (your track will be on a Street Fighter vs. Street Musician CD which will probably just be released in Japan), but I think it would be cool to hear some remixes of Street Fighter tracks. There is also a secondary contest for people to dress up as SF characters and send in pictures or whatever.

I'm thinking of dusting off the gear and giving Ken's theme a go. :rock

Edit: There is also an art portion to the contest. But maybe I should have looked into this more... I don't see any info. on where/when/how to submit, and the site is in Japanese. :(

What do you use to 'do midis'? Just General MIDI patches on your soundcard? Or hardware? Fruityloops is a pretty powerful tool that nobody takes seriously. I love it... I never use soundfonts though, just .wav's. Soundfonts are cool cuz they're so small but if you want to edit them it's a pain.

I'd like to spend more time with Propellerheads Reason... I hear it ruins Fruity.

I love that song (I take it you're talking about the part at the end, right?)

I use music masterworks to make midis. The program is genious if you want to compose things. But Fruityloops makes no sense, I just want to map an instrument on a piano roll, I JUST WANT A NORMAL PIANO. But noooo, they have techno beats and this and that and I can't find any tutorials and it makes me want to rip my hair out.

>:

Can you help? I don't want to make techno by downloading loops I didn't make and mixing them, that takes no talent. I want to compose a song, even techno, but I don't know how.

Im talking the whole thing, i got this wicked cool guitar setting, and off course the ending.

But thats it, although i once did London Calling, it was the funniest thing i ever heard.

Early 90s keyboard? Which make/model Prof? Please say it has the obligatory congo/salsa drum loop :love

Cybernetico, which version of Fruity are you using? Usually just make the track you want active (when the light is on, don't bring up the option screen by clicking the button with the sample/file name) and hit the keyboard button. It'll pop up and you can enter your notes in that way.
