Everytime I try to save an image from a DivX or DVD player by pressing the Print Scrn/SysRq key, the saved image ends up being a black square where the video image should be. :(
So, how do I save these video images?

use virtualdub (http://www.virtualdub.org/) for divxs >:
the dvd player I use (CyberLink PowerDVD (http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/products/product_main.jsp?ProdId=28)) allows screen caps :eek
I'm sure there's probably a free DVD player that lets you screen capture :/ or you could download that one off kazaa :/

Actually, I have a new problem. :(
On VirtualDub, is there a way to adjust the brightness of the videos?

yes. go to video > filters
then add brightness and contrast, adjust and now when u send the fram to the clip board say the output not the source.
might be another way but i am not sure..
