You DO realize that you are now required by law to provide us with a sound clip, don't you?

After all, if someone talks about how much they hate their face, they have to post a picture. Or if someone says how big their penis is, they.... well, we let that one slide.

But come on. We need to hear what you sound like (for those of us not cool enough to come over and hear it in person), so that we can respond by telling you that you:

a) Don't sound like a 2-year-old.
b) Do sound like a 2-year-old, but that's oddly sexy.

Avoid eating too much wheat such as wheat bread, crackers, cereal, etc.

Drink tea.

And most of all, put more fucking feelings into it, sing it like you really mean it.

I always kind of forget what my voice sounds like and whenever I imagine myself talking to somebody or whatever, I always imagine it in a different voice. then when I go to talk it's kind of disapointing.

Another thing I hate is that I used to be able to do a dead-on Bobcat Goldthwait impression, and now I can't.

Usually I forget what I sound like too, but I just bought an answering machine and I had to record the message thing. It's seriously embarassing. I tried really hard to sound like an adult

A long time ago I read somewhere that adults that sound like children had some kind of mental trama when they were younger and somehow got stuck with a kid voice. But I don't know if they meant baby talk type of speaking or actually pitch/tone/whatever of the voice. WEll either way sounds like bullshit to me

My voice changed almost overnight in Jr. high. I was a little girl with Greta Garbo's voice-without the accent.
I read this on a public speaking website:

"Women's voices are generally lighter & higher in pitch than men's. It is difficult for us to compete there, & research shows more credibility is given to people with deeper voices. What can you do? Practise deepening your voice. It is possible to change those high notes & use them less often. If you are blessed with a deep voice, practise varying it also."

You might also want to try a speech therapist. Other than that, I have no other ideas.

I always thought my voice was reasonably deep, or at least obviously male. Then some woman on the phone called me "ma'am". Maybe I just sound like a 50-year old lady who's drunk scotch and smoked a pipe all her life. ...I can live with that.

I also got mistaken for a girl for a woman at a store once (she was looking down at the counter when she noticed me), but that was because of my long hair. But the bitch seemed to actually get angry at me for looking like a girl when I corrected her.

*shrugs* My voice was deep enough to begin with, but since I do have the nicotine habit, now it's deep and gravelly. Thankfully, it ended up gravelly in a smooth way. And I'm going to miss it when I catch throat cancer :(
