Got Backstage At Download!

I can't bloody believe it. I got to party for many hours with Ministry. They were the only band to meet their fans. Manson and Maiden all went back to their hotels, but Ministry partied with us from 6pm until the middle of the night. And they paid for all our champagne and lager. I have just had one of the best weekends of my life!

See ,I've heard the "roadies as a cover charge" theory before too. I later found out that those that get past the roadies are preselected and those that "pay the cover" are drowning in a sea of false hopes. Let me tell ya, it really takes your self-esteem down a peg or two when you learn this AFTER spending some "quality time" with the Dixie Chick roadies. Ah no, it wasn't like that!!! All the other people I got in with were blokes!!! We all post regularly on their message board and Al and his wife also post on it occasionally. But they read all the crap we spew! They could even quote some of my posts!

My piercer showed me his genital piercing collection once... looked liked Robocop's pee pee. I always wondered why it sounded like he had a lot of change in his pockets when he walked...

Well, I've stage managed Less Than Jake and Moloko in the last couple of weeks alone. So there. But yeah, getting backstage rules when you are a punter. As crew it sorta takes the fun out of it...!

Bod, how was Download? I would have gone but money/work/time was not favourable, plus it's quite a mega weekend of bands I really don't like. And I've already got my heart set on Leeds - assuming I don't get a job there first!

To be honest, blackjack I don't remember as much as I should. And I spent most of it partying with Ministry so didn't see many bands (only those that went before).

It was roasting hot and a damn good atmosphere though.
