Deftones

I hate to classify Deftones as a nu metal band, but they're what nu metal bands should be. The new album is fucking brilliant. I loved 'Needles and Pins' and that porn song. I feel so refreshed and stress free after listening to it countless of times.

My knowledge of nu metal is sorta lacking, but don't they sound like a second rate Faith No More, only serious?

I think now that I've listened to it a few times I can officially say its a dissappointment. It sounds like they took everything off White Pony that didn't work and made it 10x heavier. It sounds like a regression rather than taking the next step after White Pony.

I would suggest you to keep your knowledge of numetal to minimum. It's just another passing trend not even worth getting yourself into.

The only few comparsions I see in between Faith No More and Deftones are that those two create a lot of diversities to their songs and Chino Moreno and Mike Patton both have kick ass voices.
