Since my species was created by nature, isn't everything it does natural?
The earth made the mistake of allowing such an ignorant, shortsighted, destructive species to reach the top of the food chain. I think anything that our species does to the earth and ourselves lies within the realm of nature, and is consequently, nature's fault.
What's wrong with somebody driving an suv that gets ten miles to the gallon? It isn't their fault that they lack the inclination to consider the effects of their actions on a mass scale, it is "gaia's" fault. Humans are going to cause global extinction because humans are morons. And, really, that is all we ever could be.

We are just a blip on the screen. The earth has and will take care of itself long after we are a sad memory of an experiment gone horribly wrong ... ashes to ashes and all that.

Conserving the ecology of this world is ultimately IN OUR OWN INTEREST. If we pollute the shit out of it, OUR quality of life goes down. And if we really screw it up, we die out. >:

I like the view of life from "illusions" by Richard Bach(?).
"We are all free to do whatever we want."
Life is just entertainment, The world just a big movie theatre in which you enter by choosing to believe in time and space.
No consequences, no morals, just do whatever you like cause it feels good to do.

I'm just saying that the idea that somehow humans "owe" the earth something fails to take into account both human nature, and the natural world. It is in our self interest to keep the planet in good condition, but humans as a species aren't capable anymore of undoing what we have already done. Most people don't care enough to actually be proactive with their own problems, much less the destruction of the environment.
I know my post doesn't ooze with the relevance and validity of everything else on this forum, like "Microwave DSL slowdown problems" or "why is the penis so ugly?," for example, but i really needed some contact with all you beautiful people and everything i wanted to say elsewhere was already said by other people. I just haaaaaaaaad to make this topic!
I'm also pretty sure that kinot's reply to my post was a coded way to say that he thinks i'm "hella fresh" and "totally punk rock".
Thanks kinot, don't worry, we'll always be friends.

microwave DSL conflicts are a MAJOR problem for another day. As far as the humans owing the earth something, well this can only be settled in.......

Over 99% of existing species went extinct before we even arrived here. Gaea has a long history of fucking things up without our help.

I love roffles!
With ridges :)
I don't think that Gaia fucks up anything. The earth just moves through a variety of states based on when certain condition reach a maximum level et voila a different state. It just so happens that we're the thing that will cause the push over to the next state. Nothing to get hung about ... Strawberry Fields forever. :love

I like potato chips, and if you disagree with me, you obviously don't understand what i'm saying. My argument is flawless, like Bruce Willis in "Moonlighting", or Van Damme in "Lionheart". How's that for a rational argument?
In any case, calling me dumb is just stupid if you can't offer anything more compelling. If i'm so dumb, tell me why, help me learn to be more like you, so i can be undumb. HEEEEEEEEEEEELP MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
