Some forums going bye-bye probably in the near future...

I'm pretty sure that I'll be closing down some of the old scene mockery forums here in the not too distant future. The ones that would likely be closed are:

Winky's
Anti-Rave
Metal Mockery
Whiny Goth
Ska Termination (it'll probably just be renamed to "Food" or it'll be deleted)

Those sites have run their course and I haven't planned on updating them any more (except for possibly one more update for the Metal Mockery and Anti-Rave sites sometime waaaay off in the future, but even that's doubtful).

Besides, all of that stuff can be discussed in the Music forum anyway. And if someone wants to come argue about one of the music mockery sites, they can just come do it in General Blabber.

That being said, are there any forums you people think we could use? I'm considering a "computer geek" tech talk kind o' forum for one thing...

What about a collectors one, like for like action figures or something, althought its kinda what Retro Goodness is for.

Or a At work (at school for the yougins) where its basic talk about working and stuff.

You should definitely keep the food forum, it's a pretty successful forum, i think. Computer tech forum sounds like a great idea. How about a forum for toy collectors?

Yeah, most of those forums could just as well merge with General Blabber and Music. I don't see how a tech forum would really be needed since everytime somebody has a tech issue, we just throw Achip his way and be done with it.

It would not necessarily be for "tech issues" only, but a place where people can talk about the latest tech gear/news or what have you. You know, talking about computer processor speeds, the latest video cards, new gadgets, etc etc...

As for Toy Collector forum, I might consider rewording Retro Goodness a little bit, but I definitely don't want a separate forum for that.

I mentioned this at the old boards and everybody said "GAMING FORUM >: ", but I don't see how they are that related. If I wanna oc my pc or improve system performance or run linux or discuss the latest Microsoft drama or know how to do something in javascript, etc. I'm not going to post in Gaming. It would probably take away some of the "Questions..." forum posts though and leave that board more for answers related to the site.

You could just make the questions and suggestions forum for computers too. Most of the stuff in there is just sig testing (which Carnivore solved), and computer problems anyway.

Agreed. Whenever I, or someone else, tries to use them in a serious manner, there are never any responses because those boards are dead. But that's OK with me now, since I've officially given up drawing and writing.

I guess I agree that getting rid of a few boards makes sense, but I don't think it should all get dumped in Music. The music board is someplace we all talk about music, and it might get really lame if arguments about sXe and raving were to bust out in there...

I think the useless boards should be combined into like an "anti-scenes" board, but whatever.
